The Skymaster 2469 Society is a small group of volunteers, registered as a Yukon nonprofit organization.  As such, we have no natural revenue stream and depend entirely upon donations for our field activities, and even for our very slim administrative needs.

For our 2024 search program, West of Carmacks, we received very generous help:

  • Michael Rocereta kindly contributed his Cessna 182 and fuel, also ferrying to and from Homer Alaska at no cost.  Accordingly, we were able to devote about 20 hours of flying time to our search last summer, although about half of that was consumed by the transiting to and from our base.  Michael also generously contributed towards some of our field expenses such as meals.
  • Tonja Anderson-Dell's foundation generously supplied a cash infusion which helped to underwrite many of our field costs.  In America, she is the founder of Honored Bound (https://honoredbound.org/).  "Honored Bound's mission is to search for missing Operational Loss military's planes, advocate for the families and bring awareness about the pool of missing [US] Veterans and possibly their family members in which our [US] military doesn't look for.  They are America's Truly Forgotten Veterans."   She is the grand-daughter of an Operational Loss Airman.  In 2025 her foundation is helping with a search initiative in the Saint Elias Mountains.
  • Also, a small number of donors contributed varying amounts through our Go Fund Me link (<https://gofund.me/cc0095d0>) for which we are also very grateful.
  • Society volunteers have also been generous with their time and in-kind contributions to the extent that in 2024 in-kind contributions underwrote about 86% of the project's actual costs.

So many worthwhile civic initiatives are pursued and funded privately and this search project is no exception.  It is unfortunate that the US military only searches for combat losses but we are hoping that our Society can help to fill that gap again in 2025.
